When one speaks of a morning routine, most people would just shrug and move on. We have become so accustomed to rushing through our morning that we don’t even want to try something new.

But, doing the bare minimum, rushing through the door with a half eaten breakfast and hurriedly put on clothes doesn’t have to be the only possible way.

Try incorporating the following things in your morning and see the difference:

Don’t pick up your phone first thing in the morning:

All of us are in the habit of checking our multi-app notifications. But that just makes us lethargic. Try to not look at your phone at all, and instead start on other things. You’ll find that you’ll accomplish a lot more than that.

Have some water:

 Drinking water first thing in the morning, while your stomach is still empty is a great habit to develop. It will cleanse your body of toxins and also help ease constipation.

Arrange your bed:

Remember when as a child your mother used to make you make your bed before getting breakfast. Try doing it even without the compulsion. You will spend the day better because you started your day with accomplishing one task. And it will also motivate you to have a more productive day.

Get some fresh air:

 The natural breeze in the morning is the best health tonic you can hope for. It will refresh you for the day and greatly impact your health in a positive way.


 You don’t have to be an expert to experience the benefits of meditation. Nor do you need to have the paraphernalia like crystals etc arranged around you. Just sit in a comfortable position for a while, take some deep breaths and concentrate. It will help you declutter your mind so that you are more organized.

Set a goal or an intention for the rest of your day:

 It can be anything. You don’t have to achieve great things. You just need to set a goal and accomplish it. So think of what you can do today and then make sure that you achieve it no matter what.
