1. You’ll stress less
Every time you deal with anxiety and stress, you body produces cortisol, the stress hormone. It’s an instinctive reaction to any stressful situation but we don’t have to give in to it.
Instead of cortisol, you can get your brain to produce more oxytocin, the love hormone, by allowing yourself to be in situations where you can nurture others. Play with your kids, talk to your friends and spend time with all the other women you have a connection with. This can help you calm down and deal with issues without allowing them to overwhelm you.
2. You’ll have an easier time staying motivated
We are all aware that we need to eat healthy and stay active but it’s not easy to put in a lot of effort. Don’t beat yourself up for not being able to reach your fitness goals.
Talk to a friend instead because oxytocin also increases the production of dopamine which motivates you to work towards your aims. You will actually feel like you want to be healthy rather than having to force yourself.
3. You’ll have more compassion for other – and yourself
When you’re working towards a certain goal, it’s not as easy as following a straight road. There are many twists and turns and the pitfalls.
But if you get together with others who are going through the same struggles, you’ll realize that we are all the same and you will be able to help and support one another.
