Try practicing the following for two weeks and watch your life change in front of your eyes: whatever you think people are denying you – respect, gratitude, help, loving care, and so on – give it to them.
You do not have that? Then, simply act like you do and it will come to you. Soon after you start giving, you will begin receiving.
You can’t get what you didn’t give. The outflow dictates the inflow. If you think that the world is depriving you of something, please, have in mind that, in fact, you already have it, but because you don’t allow it to flow, you can’t see that you do. This is how abundance works.
The law of outflow-inflow interdependence is expressed through Jesus’ strong words:
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
The source of abundance is not outside of you. It’s part of who you are. However, start being grateful for and acknowledge the abundance that lies outside. Notice the greatness of life in everything surrounding you. Feel the sun’s warmth on your skin, see the beauty of the flowers in front of the florist, enjoy the moment when you bite into a juicy fruit, take pleasure when midsummer’s rain gets you soaking wet….
Life’s abundance is present at every step. By noticing the abundance that surrounds you, you revive the abundance that lies inside of you. Let it flow; let it get out. When you a smile to a stranger on the street, there is already a small outflow of energy. You just keep giving. Ask yourself:”What can I do now? How can I help this person?”
You do not have to possess anything to feel the abundance, but if you feel it deep inside yourself, things will almost certainly come to you. Abundance comes only to those who already have it. It may seem unjust, but of course it isn’t. It’s a universal law.
